Yamunotri Gangotri Tour Package

Yamunotri, the sacred abode of the revered River Yamuna, is situated in the western reaches of the Garhwal Himalayas, nestled against the backdrop of the Bandar Poonch Parvat. The prime attraction of this divine destination is the Yamunotri temple, dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, as well as the blessed hot springs located in Jankichatti, approximately 7 kilometers away. The authentic source of the Yamuna, a frozen glacial lake on the Kalind Peak at an elevation of 4421 meters above sea level, about 1 kilometer further up, is not frequently visited due to its inaccessibility. Therefore, the temple was established at the foothills for the convenience of pilgrims. The journey to this source is incredibly challenging, and thus, most pilgrims offer their prayers and homage at the temple itself. The deity in this sacred temple is a mesmerizing black marble stone idol. Similar to the River Ganga, the Yamuna holds a revered status as a divine mother among the Hindu believers and is considered the nurturing source of Indian civilization.

Moving on to Gangotri, this holy destination is perched at an elevation of 3,048 meters above sea level in the pristine state of Uttarakhand. Situated alongside the sacred Bhagirathi River, Gangotri is one of the prominent Char Dham pilgrimage sites in Uttarakhand. In this hallowed place, there is a naturally formed rock that resembles a Shivling, partially submerged under the water. During the winter months, as the water recedes, this Shivling becomes visible. According to ancient Hindu mythologies and legends, this very spot is where Lord Shiva sat in deep meditation, cradling the Ganga in his matted locks. Gangotri is not only the primary but also the most revered temple dedicated to Goddess Ganga. The current Gangotri temple was constructed by Amar Singh Thapa, a Gorkha General, in the early 18th century. The Gaumukh glacier, the source of the holy Bhagirathi River, is situated 18 kilometers away from Gangotri.

Description

Both these sacred destinations hold profound spiritual significance and offer a unique sense of tranquility amidst the breathtaking natural beauty of the Himalayas. Pilgrims and travelers are drawn to these sites, not only for their spiritual journey but also to witness the majestic wonders of nature that surround them. The enchanting landscapes, pristine rivers, and revered temples leave an indelible mark on the hearts of those who embark on this holy pilgrimage.
